My alarm woke me up early that morning. "What the fuck?" Andy growled sitting up. His eyes were glowing a faint red. I lifted my head off his chest and looked at the clock with bleary eyes. "Ugh, I've got to go to school." I groaned and slowly climbed out from up under the covers and away from Andy's warm embrace. "You could always ditch and spend the day lying in bed with me," Andy said with a sly grin. "I can't. I've got a huge exam this week and I can't miss it." I said frowning. "Oh... well can I at least drive you?" "Yeah," I said and started pulling clothes out of the closet and I started getting dressed. I grabbed my book bag and Andy was waiting downstairs holding his car keys. "Are you all ready?" he asked looking at me and smiling. "Yeah," I said and took hold of his hand. "I love you," he said giving me a quick kiss. "I love you too," I said smiling.

-Andy's Point of View-

After I dropped Ashes off at school I had business to take care of. I drove down to the rundown side of town and walked into the house that I somewhat still considered home. As usual I had to kick in the door to get it to open and I walked in to find it in worse of a mess that it usually is. "Shit, he's been here..." I growled to myself feeling anger bubble up in my stomach. By he I mean, Jake. In other words my boss and the guy that saved me from my death. He used to be one of the loner guys in high school, but one day he just disappeared. When he disappeared was when he was turned. I started to pick up the remains of a book and that's when I heard heavy footsteps coming down the hallway. "I thought you said that you weren't coming back?" Jake said. "I left some of the things I needed," I said not looking him straight in the eyes. "Like this?" he said holding up a small gold bracelet. The symbol etched onto it showed that I was one of his 'children'. "Y-yes I was coming back for that..." I trailed off turning my attention back to the book. I heard another set of footsteps. I looked back up and that's when I saw a woman with long black hair and hypnotizing dark brown eyes. "What is she doing here?" I sneered. "Don't talk to Ella that way," Jake growled. I looked over at her again and that's when I saw that she was wearing a necklace with Jake's symbol on it. "Whatever happened to just keeping her as a child?" I asked staring at him. "I fell in love." he said. I just nodded my head knowing that I had no right to say anything about who he mated with. "So why did you refuse to come to me last night?" Jake said staring daggers at me. "I was with my boyfriend," I said. "Is he human?" Jake said barely letting a second go by before responding. "Yes..." I trailed off. "Are you going to turn him?" What is this? 20 Questions? I wondered annoyed. "I-I don't know yet..." Jake stared at me and Ella just smirked. There was an awkward pause and then Jake sighed and said, "I'm going to give you a month. If you want to turn him, you may. If not, then he must die." "No..." I whispered. "It's the law, Andrew. I can't have a human knowing about demons walking around this planet. He needs to be turned. We don't want to have the council brought into this, do we?" "No, sir," I whispered. 1 month. Ashley can only be human for only 1 month. That or I lose my Ashes for good...
