Chapter 15: Of Pain & Regret

-Ashley's Point of View-

Everything seemed completely perfect. Andy lay in my arms as we sat there and gazed into each other's eyes. Originally we were watching the television, but somehow we had managed to get to the point where we were just laying here watching each other and occasionally whispering sweet nothings into each other's ears.

My heart was thudding against my chest and I knew for a fact that there was something very, very special about this boy. There was something incredibly different from him which made me want him even more.

We laid there in complete silence when Andy looked over at me with his precious blue eyes and said, "Ashley?" I saw him bite at his lip so I knew that something was up.

"Yes?" I asked him in a quiet voice.

"H-how did you lose your wings?" He asked. His voice was filled with so much innocence that it was going to drive me insane.

That was never a question that you asked a fallen angel. You probably would never know their back story just because we all knew that losing our wings was quite a painful experience, I could almost remember losing my wings just like it was yesterday...

I looked down at the Earth from the clouds. Heaven was quite a boring place, but I knew that I was going to have to stay here if I wanted to remain perfect in the eyes of God. There was something about that place though that was calling me. I had been up here so long that I didn't remember what it was like to live on Earth and I was starting to wonder if it was any better than being up here.

"What are you doing so close to the edge of that cloud?" I heard someone say and I turned around to see someone standing there with a confused expression on their face.

"Nothing. I was just looking down at Earth," I said standing up and brushing myself off before looking up at them.

"Why?" The person snapped at me and I just stared up at him with shock.

Most angels were friendly and didn't usually snap for any reason at all, but this one was a whole different story.

I studied him for a moment before I realized that he was wearing a pin that only the fallen angel hunters wear. They were the people that were sent down to Earth to find the fallen angels and bring them back here for questioning, to see if they were plotting anything against Heaven.

"I was wondering what it was like to live there. I don't remember what it was like, I've been here for such a long time," I said and he smirked at me.

"Would you like to find out?" He asked and I nodded my head quickly.

He placed both hands on my shoulder and before I knew it I was falling through the sky. It took me a moment to realize that the hunter had shoved me off of the cloud and now I was plummeting towards Earth, my wings were burning up in the process, and there was no chance of me returning.

"Don't," I snapped at him without a second's thought. I didn't want him to know how I ended up here.

"B-but," he said.

"I said don't!" I snapped once again shoving him away from me.

I could tell that I upset him at an instant because he looked back at me with watery eyes as he sat on the edge of the bed. I was afraid to tell him how I got here. I was afraid to let him know what it was like to fall from the one place that you had called home for so long.

Silence had split through the air like a sharp end of a knife and I was trying to find some way to apologize to him without having to tell him why I wouldn't mention how I lost my wings. I sat there thinking about it that I didn't even see him stand up until he was opening the door to leave the room.

"I'm sorry, Ashley. I shouldn't have asked you that. I'll talk to you later," he said and he walked out the door without another word.

I stood up to follow after him and apologize, but I heard the front door slam and I knew that it was time for me to give him a little bit of space and some time before he came back to me.

Deep down in my heart, though, I was hoping that he would come back to me soon.
So finally I have my chapter up. I'm glad to be in action once again, I missed writing a lot and now that my coauthor is back, we will be writing quite a lot. I also have some big, big plans for this story so stay tuned, lovelies.
Well we shall be awaiting my coauthor's chapter for now.
Until then, enjoy.
